As far as I know, you can take them back onboard, no problem...

You are likely to find that the duty free shop on the ship is much less than the Bahamas prices. Other than straw hats and cheep T shirts, there is nothing cheap in the Bahamas.
I'm not a smoker but it seems I've seen Marlboro on board for 2 ctn s for $40 something.

Also check ICE for the allowance of cigarettes allowed to be brought into the states. Doesn't matter if they were US smokes in the first place, I think its 200 cigarettes only. But you can bring any amount on the ship or buy any amount from the duty free shop.

What about cigars? Is there a problem bringing Cuban cigars back. I think they can be bought in Mexico. Will there be a problem with customs?

Cuban cigars are a NO NO. If you do buy and get caught big trouble. You can buy and smoke on the ship they don't care just US Customs.

Actually you can get cigs cheaper in the Bahamas then on ship. There is a cigar shop right off the ship jsut in one of the shops off the dock. Cant remember for sure what they were in April last year. but know half the cost of what they are in the states. Took some home for my daughter.

We were on Valor April 10th 2011. 2 cartons of Marlboros were $52.00
but remember only 1 carton per person is limit without paying duty.
Bahama prices may be about the same is u,s. (never fresh though - old)
Next Cruise go to St Thomas. You can bring back 5 Cartons per person and there only $18.00 per carton there. Smoke your Cubans onboard. It is a large
cash fine if you show up in customs in the U.S and they find them hidden in your luggage. Stay out of trouble your on vacation. Have a great cruise.
