Default Did the Allure passenger jump or did he fall?

I would love to know if the passenger who ended up in the ocean jumped or fell off the ship. And where he was when he left the ship. I have been on the Allure and on the rear deck there is a walkway wide enough for people to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset. It also is not that high above the water. Not that this matters but since they have cameras all over the ship they should be able to figure out whether he jumped or fell off the ship.

The next question is whether he will have to pay for the Disney ship rescue.

Interesting situation which created some questions in my mind.

I have been neither on the Oasis nor Allure but with regards as to falling or jumping, that would be speculation. But having said that , after 42 cruises, on big, small, and in between sized ships and on several different lines, I would find it hard to believe he would just innocently be strolling about and suddenly lose his balance and take a dive.
Some one mentioned maybe he fell off steps--I have yet to see a set of steps on a ship that came so close to the outside railing that even if you did fall on the steps that would make you take a tumble into the sea.
If they had it on video, it looks like someone would have sounded the alarm right away--who knows--I am not now, nor probably ever will be convinced that someone " accidentally " just falls off a ship. They have to be doing something to put themselves into a dangerous position in order to do so and as the old saying goes, you can't fix stupid. Sitting upon the railing, sitting on the balcony rails, climbing up high on the rungs of the deck rails and leaning over as far as you can go, etc is not , in my book, " accidentally " falling off a ship.
With regards to Disney charging him for saving his neck, I would seriously doubt they would even try, as any ship is required to render aid if at all possible so I would say they only did their humanitarian duty and fished him out.
Maybe he'll show up on a talk show with his lawyer to explain that all he did was lean against a rail and it broke with him.

Think of a ship like a vegas casino, they have so many cameras recording you can't watch them all at once.

..also I think you're forgetting about the all you can drink packages. Some people overindulge trying to get their moneys worth. After 12 drinks a day it wouldn't take much to fall off the ship

I bet when the full story comes out, it shows that he was "dicking about" in some way.
You can not just "fall" off but this is the term the press will use.
But like most of these stories, you get all the bad news press first but when the full, true story comes out, it won't be publicised as much and we may never really know what happened.
95% of all accidents are caused by people dicking about (being an idiot).

In telling a story things always get a little twisted around.
The man who fell overboard and was picked up by a Disney ship was on the Oasis not on the Allure.

I agree, I think it is pretty difficult to just "fall" off a cruise ship, there is usually something else going on...
