Why are there more single women on cruises?

there is a possibility that the orginal premise of this "thread" is not true anyway.....maybe it LOOKS like 75 percent women to women and it LOOKS like 75 percent men to men. Ive done some descriptive stats off of singles cruise message boards on four singles cruises now and it comes out really even ......its about 50/50 who knows maybe if an entire fraternity comes on a spring break cruise and the Zetas dont come then the stats could be skewed. The singles cruise companies are not very informative on the subject...........and they are the ones with the REAL data........but I really doubt it would be 75/25 either way.

It is kind of commonly these days to see more single women than men on board a cruise. But I don`t really buy that "women live more than men" crap. This scientific fact has not much to do with this topic. I would rather believe maybe that a woman would take a cruise after a break up to forget about all the bad staff in her life, but how many men would do that, honestly?

I have traveled to many, many countries by myself. I have also had many, many scares.

Cruising provides me with a safe place to sleep every night as well as knowing I can have a drink and not drive. Hotels are great but venturing out on my own in a strange country puts me on such an alert (watching my back) that I don't enjoy my experience.

I love the fact that I can book a tour with others on the same cruise who have no problem keeping me under their wing until we board the ship again.

I don`t know about that "women being more courageous than men" issue. I guess the opinions would differ depending on the person. But I`m sure if a man says that men are more courageous than women, it will automatically be classified as a misogynist. Isn`t that right ?

Quite often women have a groups or organizations that will organize a group cruise. As a result the women go without their spouses on these cruises.

It's a fact that women outlive men , as a result more older women
are seen ona ship.
