Default What do you do between contracts?

Iím curious as to what cruise crew employees do between contracts?

How do you find short term accommodation without paying a fortune in premium month to month leases?

Does anyone have any alternative things they do or ideas?

I canít seem to think of anything and it seems like any thing saved during a contract would disappear once on dry land.

As far as Iím aware RCCI doesnít pay anything between getting off a ship and possibly starting another.

On a side note, would anyone know if RCCI quote salaries before or after tax as a US resident?

Iíd love to hear your thoughts or experiences on any of the above
