Im a little ticked that carnival doesn't have any good cruises leaving from New York. I was wondering, what in your opinion, is the best cruise for singles leaving out of New York. Preferably going some place warm, Carnival or no Carnival.
If you want a cruise to "someplace warm" from New York, your only option (other than a repositioning cruise that would not return to New York) is Bermuda. I'm aware of four ships that are cruising from New York to Bermuda -- MV Horizon and MV Zenith (Celebrity Cruises), MV Pacific Princess (Princess Cruises), and one of Royal Caribbean International's vessels (I don't recall which one). Expect to see some larger vessels on this route starting in 2003.
There are two other options for cruises out of New York, but they would not go to "someplace warm." Several lines offer "Canada/New England" cruises between New York and Montreal (you could return by train if you don't want to fly) -- but many of these are in the fall when temperatures are apt to be cool. Also, Cunard offers several transatlantic cruises between New York and London.
This is a tough question as I have only sailed out of New York a couple of times and can't recommend any ship I was on for singles. Does anyone have first-hand information about the best singles cruise out of New York? If so, please let us know.
I've sailed on 3 cruises out of NY and would have to say that I do not think that any Bermuda cruise would be a good one for singles. These are couples ,groups and families. On one cruise there was one single guy and not even one single lady.If you must, explore the Royal Caribean. It would be the only one that would attract a singles crowd.
Who says the Carnival cruises out of NY are not good ?
Carnival sails some of its biggest and best ships( Often the newest in its fleet ) on the Canadian cruises. Considering they go in the summer, warm weather is usually not an issue. On our last Carnival cruise out of NY my guess is that 25% of the ship were singles. It appeared the bars, clubs and casino were humming.
