Let me know too!!! I've been on two cruises (both Carnival). The first one (Paradise)wasn't too bad (musically speaking), but the Fascination last October was downright nasty. Nothing but hip-hop and club music! I talked to one of the crew members, and he said it is entirely up to the DJ what they play, but I've never come across one who plays requests. Yeah, they'll take requests, but they never actually play them... The best place I found was Fat Tuesdays in Cozumel. They played AC/DC, Van Halen, etc., plus we were allowed to dance on the tables ;-)
But overall, the consensus among DJ's (not just on cruise ships) is that you can't dance to hard rock, so they would only be wasting time and driving people away by playing it. I personally beg to differ, but oh well. I wish each ship's bars would specify the type of music they play and stick to it. I've seen people on other cruise boards looking for ballroom dancing, salsa, polkas, line dancing, etc. , and believe that it might sway people to a particular ship.
If there is ever a ship that exclusively plays hard rock (like that will ever happen
) I will be on it every chance I get!
