I am deliberating about going on a cruise on my own, having never been on one before. Being in my mid fifties, I am not sure I would fit in. I am slightly extrovert but that's all - not pushy or overly friendly until I get to know someone.
Should I go or should I stay? Would I enjoy it or feel incarcerated? Real comments invited, with thanks,
Go for it !!!!!
You should enjoy life to the fullest.

By all means, go on a cruise. And if you will check out my articles in the "Singles" section of Cruisemates you will see some examples of fun to be had, as well as lots of tips on what to expect on your first cruise and how to enjoy it to the fullest.
Thanks for your reply. I did in fact read, and enjoy, your excellent articles before posting the question. As good as they were, they were nearly all written by women. I wanted to see things from a man's perspective, ideally.
I have made a booking on the new ship MSC Lyrica. If I have a good experience, I submit an article for you!
Glad to see that you decided to go -- you will absolutely love it! I have been thinking about trying a cruise on the MSC line, and would be very interested in reading your review.
On the last cruise I was on, there was a single guy in his mid-40's traveling alone. He had an absolute ball. Out of the 14 days, he only showed up to dinner on 3 nights -- his evenings were spent mingling with the hundreds of people he met. He was such a blast!
Enjoy -- I'm sure it won't be your only cruise!
I am in my metalic yrs.,(80), but I am still active. I would like to meet some middle aged (60 to 75) ladies on a cruise. I am going to Panama Feb. 24th on Princess. Do you know where I could find a list of said ladies?
