Hi Heather!

I kept missing Vicky yesterday. Had a really hectic day at work yesterday---called once while Vicky was at lunch, and then by the time I had a break to call again I guess the office was closed. I'll give her a call on Monday.

I'm going to stay "solo" in my cabin. Have heard so many horror stories of people sharing cabins---not to mention the cabins are usually so small anyway, that I won't have to worry about sharing the bathroom, the mirror, place for things, etc.

Having decided on a single cabin, I plan on booking the cheapest cabin, since I'll have the single supplement to pay. I'd rather save my money for "charitable donations" to the casino, "fu-fu" umbrella drinks and shore excursions.

Not sure if I'll go down on the 7th or not---probably not. I live near Tampa which is quite a distance from Miami, so I'll probably be taking a flight.

There is a 5 night cruise out of Tampa in November that I think I will also be booking, in addition to our group cruise. I SOOOOOO need a vacation NOW!

Kathy

Hi Clint

You will have mail.

As for the ages of the singles on the cruise they are late 20's on up. There are quite a few people going on this cruise. Considering we have 10 more months to go (ugh! I hate even thinking about how long of a wait there is) I am sure there will be more and more people signing up. The way people so far have been talking is that they are just looking forward to there always being other fun people they know to do excursions and ship activities. There are couples who are going too. I know I will love walking into the casino and seeing other people I know to sit and play blackjack, poker or craps with. Same thing with going to the lounge to have a drink. I just want to have a week of pure relaxation and lots of laughs. More the merrier I say.

Up here in Ohio we are going to be having a pre cruise party/cook out next month before winter hits. Helps keep the excitement building. I just wish everyone lived in the same state to get together. Just have to meet all you New Yorkers, Floridians, Washingtonites and Pennsylvanians next May I guess. Can't wait!!!

Chuck-

"Valor" is the name of the Carnival Ship that is debuting in December and we are sailing on her in May. That was a good posted question there Chuck. The ships theme is real and mythical heroes thus the name Valor. You can read all about it on the CCL site. Are you thinking of joining us?

Cathy-

NY City is, I think, about 5 hours away. When we drove to Buffalo it took about 3.5 hours so that is what I am basing my assumption on. When we drove to NY City before we always stop at different places on the way so I really don't know for sure. It is great hearing from you again. Are you up for the alcohol card? Looks like we are going to have enough people getting it. We are having the party on September 4th now. Will that date work for you? You are more than welcome to stay with us overnight too. Let me know.

Duke-

You know it. I am going to be warning everyone about the wild and crazy guy who is joining us from Florida. lol

Everyone-

Found out today we have 4 girls joining us from Florida too. They are all in their early 20's. I only talked to one of them but she seems really nice. They are all set for some fun times and meeting some people. (that would mean you men) Got a question, if they are 20 and 21 will they be able to get a room together? I know there is some policy about that so clue me in people.

Well take it easy everyone. Won't be on here for the next couple of days do to being busy at work. Don't worry, I will get back to anyone who writes and/ or answers my earlier question. Take care, and remember, the cruise is getting closer every day.

Hi all you cruiser for Valor May 8th, 2005. When in St. Thomas how does a daysail sound. Would be $115 cash per person which includes 6 hours of sailing, snorkeling, snorkel equipment (I think I am just going to buy my own equipment though), water toy equipment, bar (I hear the bloody mary's and rum drinks are to die for), gourmet lunch and snacks. Would be going to St. John and different sites for the snorkeling or just floating around. Would be back in St. Thomas at 4pm for a few hours of shopping or whatever. Anyone game? Maximum number of people is 6 per boat. Have 5 going for sure from Ohio and 2 more from Florida going. So we need at least 5 more so that we can get another boat to go in tandem. Let me know ya all. This came highly recommended as a excursion and is actually more cost effective that the ship offerings for sailing and snorkeling. Plus it will be more exclusive and a chance to get away from the crowds for awhile.

9 mos and 1 week to go

The date is getting here slowly but surely.

PS You all won't have to make a deposit for this. You pay when you get on the boat. I will reserve with my credit card.

Duke-

There really wasn't any question in my mind that you would be interested in doing this. DUH!!! Ok you will need $115 that day when you get on the boat and $7 each way for the ferry. They are arranging a transfer for us.

Cathy, Daniel, Kathleen and all you others...

How about it gang? We have 11 people now doing this. I went to sleep last night dreaming about this cruise. I still don't know what to do in Nassau people. I pretty much have St. Martin figured out. Any ideas or suggestions for Nassau anyone? Thinking about the shark dive but no one else has wanted to do it so far.

The three younger girls I mentioned on a earlier post are not going I don't think. There was no one over 25 in their group so they couldn't get a room together. Seems to me there has to be a way around this or else how would they get all these Spring Breakers?

Cathy are you thinking about coming in for the cruise party?

OK I NEED TO YELL THIS PART...DOES ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE WANT TO JOIN THE GROUP??? Heads up...we are running low on rooms so if you are thinking about it, let us know. You do not have to be single or actually take part in any group activities to take advantage of the group rates. Hope to hear from some of you all.

Peace and love,
Heather

Pat if you joined us I would just love, love, love it!!!!

I think we are at like 30 or 32 people right now. Some singles and some couples. The TA says that when we get to the 3 month mark is when more and more people will sign up. I just hope as we reserve more blocks of rooms they are 1.) available and 2.) the same price. We have one couple getting married on the ship who we know here in Ohio. (I like to think I kinda convinced them to go for it.) YEAH FOR RON AND VICKY!!!

I was planning on writing a big review about the cruise, ship and what it is like to meet people on a cruise and making some great buddies even before you leave when you are part of a group. I think everyone should write reviews so that there is a wide spectrum of experiences for people to read.

Pat, I sincerely hope you come on the cruise. You know you are going to have to check the Valor out sooner or later, just as well be with us.

Well gang, we have had quite a few people e-mail the last few days about the cruise and I was so excited to hear from them. I did book the St. Thomas excursion today for 12 of us that I heard from (yes Duke you are included ) so that is set. If any of you also want to do that then let me know so I can add you. They cannot do more than 24 people so let me know. If you all want to check their site it is DaysailFantasy.com. Tomorrow I am going to get the trip insurance all set up and will e-mail the info you will need for the group insurance. It is about half of what CCL charges. Gotta love that.

A huge part of what I am looking forward to on this cruise is FINALLY getting to meet all you guys. Two of the e-mails that I received this weekend were due to the enthusiastic responses from you group cruisers. Makes people know they would be welcome additions to the group.

You will receive e-mails from me tomorrow about the insurance.

Take care,
Heather

Hi Heather and everyone:

Thank you for the welcome.

I'm really looking forward to this vacation since it will probably be my only one for 05. It's an off year, vacation wise, for me.

I'm pretty familiar with St. Martin and St. Thomas. The day sail in St. Thomas sounds like a blast and the price you really can't beat it. I was on a 3 hour excursion for about the same price last time, so this is twice the time for a little more money. Heather, that's a YES for me on the daysail.

Hi Heather, Duke and the gang! Welcome Hondo - glad to see you are joining us :-D

My apologies for being away from the board so long - things were a bit crazy for a while, but I believe all has calmed down now.

Heather the Day Sail sounds like a great idea - unfortunately I don't swim, wouldn't you know it?

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it up to Ohio for the party in September - bummer. I live with an elderly relative, and sometimes it takes more than a little rearranging to organize it so that someone will be with him while I am gone. I have the cruise in October on the Fascination, and I'm freaking out wondering if I'll have him taken care of by then. I think I will but I still worry - oye!

Come on Pat - please join us!!! Before long we will be convincing you....it's no use resisting, ha, ha ;-)

Heather I didn't receive the email about the insurance info. Have you sent it out yet?

Hope everyone's having a great day, and to all our Florida cruisemates - stay safe!

Take Care,

Cathy in NYC
