Hi Pat, I totally agree with you about making plans for New Years Cruises. I made plans to visit my relatives for Christmas and then I fly into Miami and spend one night in a hotel. I was shocked to find out that most of my favorite hotels were sold out and some hotels have gone up in price.
I am soooo glad I have everything all planned out. I found NON-STOP flights too. The non-stop airplanes are also filling up too.
What is really important for New Years is that if your plane has to make a stop in a snowed-in city or stormy city..... it may take hours before your airplane can take off again. This is why I have already booked my flight, cruise and hotels way in advance. Veteran cruisers plan things way in advance. I also buy travel insurance in case of an emergency.
We used to be able to make plans at the last minute but times have changed.
For once I would like a single cruise that has a 7 day duration to start during or on the day after Christmas. Most start a few days before or on New Years and during that time everyone is going back to work after New Years.
