Well, you should think about it--if you go on a caribbean trip you'll miss out on half of the sights if you don't scuba dive. Years ago I went to Fiji on a shark dive and that was one of my most remarkable dives. The Fijian divemaster would spear a fish at the beginning of the dive (the fish blood would then attract the sharks) and after the sharks started congregating he would put the speared fish under rocks. The sharks would then ram their snouts underneath the rocks trying to get to the fish. The Fijian divemaster would then grab one of the sharks behind the gills and hold the shark momentarily for a minute or so. Quite amazing as I was taking pictures of this other sharks would be bumping against me!

Sharks appear quite differently when you're in the same environment. The sharks I saw at Fiji were white tipped reef sharks that average about 4-6 feet in length and were quite docile. Now if I saw a great white that would have elicited a different feeling.

How could we forget "The Poseiden Adventure" and the lame remake "Poseiden".

Actually... I saw Open Water... and did go diving after seeing it... you must reall try it as it is a total different experience than snorkeling. Once you actually try scuba... you will never snorkel again!!

Yes, "Boat Trip" would be my greatest fear. Imagine thinking you are going a singles cruise only to find out after you board that it is a GAY cruise!

"An Affair To Remember" - a sweet movie, but it gives false hopes for a shipboard romance. It just doesn't happen that often.

I absolutely loved Boat Trip. I would have a great time on that boat, although it would be like being a diabetic in a See's Candy Store

Of course Dave, the movie did have the "Sweden Bikini Swim Team" on the cruise unfortunately they were hard to access.

No wonder the movie BOMBED at the box office it didn't have anything fun for straight men and women.

Dave The Wave"...it would be your luck that on your plane ride to your cruise they would be showing the movie "Cruising" with al Pacino, and you were excited because you thought it was about cruising (VBG)

then you would have been in double shock when you board your cruise that you mentioned in your posting

It happens more than you think Pat. In fact I would say that when it doesn't happen is the exception. But that is just my experience. It has happened though. One time I drank until I had lowered my standards all the way and still didn't get lucky.

Pat..I hate to say it but I tend to agree with Dave The Wave..If that's what you are going on a cruise to do, you will eventually find what you are after and if it's the last night and you still have not been successful, that's when you find Dave's cabin (VBG)

But DTW..do they call you after the cruise is over ?

I still believe it's a woman's choice.

A guy can say he will find romance and have sex on a cruise or anywhere for that matter but it's a woman's choice to say . . . YES.

I should have been more specific. I meant a LASTING romance, like the title of one of my romance novels: A FOREVER KIND OF LOVE.

Sure, you can probably find someone to have a shipboard romance with...and I hope each of you looking for one does so. I've had a few of my own.

You go Pat!! Yeah, baby, yeah! That's what we are talking about! Plain old sex, drugs and rock n roll!

You don't look too bad either for an older broad, I might add.

I just saw the new lame Posiden, great to see pre cruise eh? I also saw Open water before my last cruise, and while snorkleing in Belize I looked up to see the group was about a block away from me and I swam my butt off to catch up!

The idiots in the group were kicking around too much staying to close to each other and thus scarring off all the fish, the trick to successful snorkle is lay still and float like a dead thing, then watch the coral closely and all the pretty fishes come out. So I sort of went off on my own a bit too much. One has to keep an eye out or a whistle handy perhaps.

Dave did you end up on a gay cruise or is just a fear? I have gay friends and let me tell you those boys can throw a party! If that were the case there would still be straight people on the boat perhaps the staff members to bond with. Bettlegator as I said many men go on singles cruises looking for sex while women go looking for long term relationships to meet mr Right and end up with Mr. Right now. Too bad more long term things don't happen, but Im happy to report a recent cruise relationship. Has bloomed with a friend of mine and is still going strong.

Always good to see you Showcat! Did you see my Enchantment gallery part 3? I have underwater pics of a manatee and an eagle ray among other oddities...

How about the movie "GHOST SHIP" which came out in 2002[???] It is a bad!!! Movie....but the opening scene is so Brilliantly Horrific that they actually show it again in the middle to recap!

I rented it for a date....instead of the original Poseidon Adventure for a laugh...and let us say...the date was NOT successful!
