Default MENSA Cruise

Has anybody heard of a cruise put together for MENSA members?

I've been inquiring at my local chapter but nobody here seems to have too much of an interest in it

Some chapters have scheduled cruises in the past. (Canadian "Generation Mensa" went in Jan. 2006, Gulf Coast in 2005) I don't think the National organization puts together anything beyond the group discounts for Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity.

I don't know if anyone is planning a cruise in the future. Sorry.

Aren't we all MENSA members here having figured that the secret of life is to book the next cruise before you leave the ship?

hmmm...

Mensa was founded in England in 1946 by Roland Berrill, a barrister, and Dr. Lance Ware, a scientist and lawyer. They had the idea of forming a society for bright people, the only qualification for membership of which was a high IQ. The original aims were, as they are today, to create a society that is non-political and free from all racial or religious distinctions. The society welcomes people from every walk of life whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population, with the objective of enjoying each other's company and participating in a wide range of social and cultural activities.

Well I guess I qualify. Do they have keg parties?

Now who in their right mind wants to hang out with a group founded by lawyers? Really, in the history of the world only one was ever called honest, and look what happened to him.

WOW!

A) It's a special interest group. Groups with similar interests book cruises together all the time. Obviously, if the title of my post had been Gay/Lesbian Cruise, you would have had no objections whatsoever.

B) I never stated that I was "perfect" in any way

C) How sad you must be to feel the need to post such a vitriolic message

Gwy,

quick Mensa question...did you take the test, or have a pre-qualifying score? I haven't joined yet. I have an old GRE score that qualifies, but wasn't sure if it was worth the effort to try to track it down, or just sit through the other test (and take the chance of bunging it up).

I'm still in the testing process. I'm working on the pre-test and practicing ALOT. We are only allowed to attempt the MENSA battery of tests ONCE in our lifetime.

I want to get it right. I'm a little concerned because my testing results tend to land just right on the edge of what MENSA will accept.

The standard minimum to get into MENSA is 132 and I've been pre-testing in a range of 127 to 134.

Default MENSA

Alas, beautiful and intelligent, sailing HAL, but on the wrong ship and itinerary. I'd sail to Mexico with you but since my cousin tried to liberate Baja California and Sonora in the '50's with the Walker Expedition, I am afraid the federales are waiting on the dock.

Enjoy that cruise to the Republic of Lower California. We lost that real estate deal, but at least cousin Charles inked the deal (constitution) on Upper California.

NEVER!!!! You are blatantly bright in all of your postings

I'm still working on becoming "less chunky" so my pictures are somewhat withheld.

You'll see a few of them scattered around this board but I'm afraid they are not so flattering for this rather plump 44 year old gal.......

Oh please, there isn't anything wrong with the picture and at least you are younger than me, ok by 1 year.

Dave, it appears I am going on one of your favorite ships at the end of Jan, the Enchantment. This will be my second sailing on her in 6 months. I think she is one of the nicer Vision Class ships since the stretch but that hasn't helped the pizza on RCCL (lol).

I love trivia and winning is kinda nice too. I have played on a couple of Cunard Queens and would love to play with you two on Oosterdam 1/20/07 cruise.
