Default To Tux or Not to Tux?

I am about to take my first cruise/singles cruise on New Year's Eve. The big question is should I take my Tux with me? I have been told that New Year's Eve will not be one of the formal nights.

Since you say you already have a Tux.... then you should pack it for the two formal nights you will have during the week.
Most singles like to have their photos taken and if you meet a gal she might want to take a photo with you even if she is just a friend. Some of us gals like to take photos for fun with cute guys on formal nights.
I like to have someone take my photo with a nice guy in a tux just to show it off to my friends back home. Some gals are in the habit of making the rounds and they take photos with as many guys as possible so when we post our photos on our singles website..... we get to see the gal with different guys in the photos. We had one gal that did that on one singles cruise. I thought it was a great idea.

I am also cruising on Dec.31th.... which is the first night of the cruise. The first night is always casual at dinner time but I am going to dress up with a fancy cocktail dress. I always like to dress up every evening. I like to look great every night. I am not going to dress casual for New Years Eve. I don't care what other singles dress like. I love to dress up and see guys dressed up too in their tuxs. If you care what people think of you.... then dress casual. I don't care what people think so I always dress up.
The other gals just look at me and say, "wow" you look good.

If you want the girls to notice you.... then wear the Tux. Angel gal

By all means, take the tux. It's so "James Bondish."

And I agree with Angelgal. I love to dress up every night of a cruise.

And don't worry that you might feel over-dressed. The way I figure it, everyone else is under-dressed.

What cruiseline ? On Holland America, by all means wear the tux on formal nights. Carnival is a different story. Ealier this year, I felt overdressed on a "fun ship".

Yah..I'm with the ladies...I vote for the tux.(Notice that the ladies are 4-0 in favor...that's a serious hint!

1. You get to practice your Sean Connory accent
2. Almost nobody can make a tux look bad
3. If the ladies are taking all that time to look gorgeous in their evening gowns, its the least you can do.

Speaking as a single male, take the tuxedo along with you though I was the only male in our single cruise to wear a tux.

You better wear your tux so the gals will chase after you. They do!

I booked on the wrong ship for New Years. I will be cruising on the Carnival Valor. I booked months in advance. Angel gal

Tux, shall I repeat tux. I don't care if it is Carnival or Holland America. My son wears a tux always and he was 16 at the time!
