I'm guessing, only if Kathy bought her a computer, and internet access! She'd never spring for those herself!
dmcrews4202 was right on!!

I don't really care if she does read this and rather hope that she does. She needs to understand that this type of behavior is unacceptable.

*hugs* Andrew! Great to see you around! I will be just getting in from our cruise on the 28th of January.

Oh Dave, did you have to bring up College room mates? () Oh this all reminds me of my first College room mate which didn't last too long. He moved next door and the other person in that room moved in to my room (we switched room mates). We got along pretty well but the first one, that was another story. We never would have survived one semister.

Pat ... in response to your using your credit card to lock the safe ... even when I'm alone I never use my credit card. I use my AAA card or something like that that has a magnetic strip on it. It works just as well and my credit card info is not being programmed into the safe. Granted it is being overwritten if the next passengers use it ... but it is not difficult to pull that information off a swipe.

Dave, all you had to do is book the cruise. Tim has us all to himself. I can post during our trip though.

Geez, Kathy.. That was a bummer! We will have to try to make up for that. I know that you and Heather will have the BEST time (and I don't even know you). I have traveled with family and friends so I've known what I was getting into, no surprises. I'll have to buy you an umbrella drink for medicinal purposes. Anyway you get to cash this in in less than 2 weeks. See ya soon!!

Wow so sorry to hear about your experiance! I do hope you managed to have fun in spite of this person. I would have been livid also.

My biggest fault is late night blowdrying of my hair,(due to severe smoke allergys) sleeping late and not being the neatest cabin mate, (our cabin looked like a bomb hit it) till our room steward (secret cleaning Ninga) came in. Ha! Other then that Im pretty laid back!
Thanks for the nice comments about me made by you and, and my Canadian girlfriend. Did you ask if they could switch your cabin? I hope to meet more of you single gals in the future so we can book some trips together.

Thanks for the positive words and compassion! I really had a good time in spite of it all.

I came home rather sleep deprived, however, and am still trying to make up for it

My next roomie, Heather, promised that she won't be setting any alarm clocks to go off at 2:30 am every night

Welcome Back Angelgal,

Your cruise sounds like it went ok and your roomie sounded better than Kathy's. How did you link up with the guy roomie, did you meet on another cruise before?

How many of us have cruises planned this month? I wish I as going on the HAL cruise with some of you but I will have to enjoy the Enchantment with some old friends and is should be fun.

Unbelievable!

I just received an email from Rosie in Acapulco. I retained her and her husband for our excursion there.

"Hi Kathy,I hope you are doing just fine, and hope the rest of your cruise was
great and not unhappy with your roommate,I was very sorry to hear all the
things that happened to you,Arturo my husband said that your roommate told
him that you paid for her,so she didn't want to pay him but at the end she
had to do it,"

That witch told him that I had paid for her and tried to weasel out of her share of the excursion.

Good thing that I ditched that excursion in the middle of it and stayed at Sr. Frogs with a friend that I had made on the ship. If Cindy had pulled that stunt in front of me................

really...........UNBELIEVABLE!!

Do you have to be mentally ill to be a con-artist?

Okay, I must admit I am amazed at the number of postings regarding the "Cabin Mate from Hell." They support what I have said so many times regarding rooming with a stranger--it's a crap shoot. And if you can afford to pay the single supplement, do so. But surely some of you have had some positive experiences, because I've had singles write to me that they shared with a stranger and wound up being best buddies and are now cruising together. So how about those of you who have successful stories to tell? Let's hear them.

No Dave you do not have to be, mentally ill to be a con artist. Since I meet all 3 of the women Angelgirl is reffering to I can say that her storys are 100% accurate.

I also notice lots of the singles drink too much for my taste, I can't relate to people who are always half in the bag or inside the bad for the entire cruise ha! Hey we all have our moments on vacation but some people have serious alcohol problems.

I wonder if the singles companys do anything to ban the con artist people from future cruises or if they can't do to liability reasons, and possible law suits?

Some one used a credit card that was no longer good in my cabin mates name on last Decembers cruise, it caused a big mix up and delay for her disembarking. We both suspect the women from Hawaii, since neither one of us even owns a Visa card. This women left the pre cruise dinner without paying her share, and later tried to charge drinks to the singles company saying they ok'd it which of course they did not. Unbelivable the nerve of some people!

For all you people considering a singles cruise please don't let this stop you just beware of people untill they prove themselves. Lock up your belongings, if anyone proves to be a user stear clear of them even if they are your cabin mate!

Don't worry about hurting their feelings, to thy own self be true. I had more them my fair share of people I was not interested in trying to monopolize my time, it's my vacation so I didn't allow it. If they think I was rude, too bad, they need to get a clue. Im a nice person but Im not going to be manipulated.

One lady followed me into a shop and then got demanding, saying we should go here now, etc. I told her if she wanted to go, go ahead, howevever I was shopping. I quickly rid myself of this person as she was clingy and I had nothing in common with her. Anyone who tries to force themselves on another person sends up a bright red flad for me! The lady from Hawaii was the same way pretending to be nice but there was an air of desperation or subtle pushyness about her, she was also trying too hard to get "in" and hang out with me and my cabin mate. Beware of passive/aggresive types and just go with your gut.

Kathy if I were you I would have probally figured out a way to drive her nuts in return for her waking you up, I would have woke her up when she was sleeping, or removed the battery from her cell phone! Or opps dropped it in the sink full of water! Saying "Gee I have no idea why it stopped working! " I do hope you write a long complaint letter to the company or make some phone calls to warn them about this person if she decides to book in the future!

Default Wow, great stories

All I can say is you ladies have some great stories and I guess I have been blessed with pretty good roommates over the years. All of this enforces the fact that it really is nice to have your own cabin if possible. The wonderful freedom of having your own space just can't be beat. I do have a roommate for my Baltic cruise in June that I know ok but have never roomed with so I hope that goes ok. The stories you all have about the singles group really sound pretty much the way things are these days in real life. As we all know you can run into these types of people almost anywhere these days so really when there are 200-300 singles you have to expect a few bad apples just based on the odds of everyday life.

The ship came back in today and I'm happy to report that we had a blast.

Heather was a great roomie with the best personality I've ever encountered!

She now has a huge fan club in the crew of the Oosterdam

Kathy, glad you had a great room mate. Was there anyone onboard you were glad NOT to be room mates with?

Isn't that a rhetorical question?

*shudders at the thought* Got a picture to post for us?
