Are you saying the "Oldies" are the regular cruisers outside of the singles group? Halloween attracts all ages outside of the singles group even if most of the cruisers are older couples. The Oldies are the ones with the money to cruise anytime they want. I truly enjoy meeting them because they have tons of stories to tell me about cruising. They are the number one cruisers. Angel gal

I think they mean Oldies as in people who listen to Oldies music perhaps, like 50's and 60's music, sometimes radio stations or such may sponser a cruise and have classic bands onboard etc... Such as the Hermans Hermits etc...

Yes Showcat, I meant a seperate group, with seperate parties, geared around 50 and 60s music. Some people are talking about it on a cruisecritic roll call.

I just checked their website. There is a group called "cruisin with the oldies" and they have a few bands from the 60's era performing on the same boat as the SC.com cruise. You have to be a member of the oldies group to see the concerts. So ..yep...looks like at least 2 large groups for this cruise.

Gonna be hard to keep you from seeing the bands on a ship

I just signed up for the VTG Halloween cruise out of Miami. I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces. I was going to book the VTG cruise in late September, but the distance from the airport to the port changed my mind. Although I'm not as seasoned as some of the other cruisers on this site, I will say that my experience with VTG last year was more pleasant than my two sailings with SinglesCruise.

Hey Bill!! You're one of the familiar faces I was hoping to see!! Do you know if they are having a pre cruise get together on Saturday night? If so, where? Due to flight times from Omaha, I need to come down a day ahead of time so I'm currently researching hotel options.

Sandy,

I'm sure they will have a pre cruise get together, no details are out as of yet though, at least that I know of. Haven't heard about a hotel either but you can always call the office and ask.

In the past I have had good luck with priceline when staying in Miami. I usually stay in downtown Miami at one of the nicer hotels which will put me close to the port and only a short cab ride to South Beach if there are festivities there. 8)

Hi Sandy, I meet you on the Pride! Yup a whole lot of people from that cruise and others I've meet on other past cruises are all going on the Halloween cruise. Since Im going in August I doubt I can make it this year. The Halloween cruise is gonna be a good one for sure. Book your self a day pre cruise, they will have a precruise get together for sure, also gives you a day to rest and relax which is much better then being tired from flying on your first sea day.

Hi Carol. Yes, I certainly remember you. You put together a great private tour for the ladies in Mazatlan. I'm definately going to fly to Miami pre cruise. The only other option would be to catch a 5:30 AM flight and use multiple carriers unless I want a 4 hr layover. Hope you have a great time on your August cruise.

Thanks Sandy, hope you have a great time also please post a cruise review eather in the singles section or in reader reviews after yours. I have two reviews in the reader review section. One for the Costa Mediterrenia ship, the other for the Pride.

Im ready to be at sea again I can't wait! Just worried about those icky Cecada bugs that are supposed to be coming out soon. Yuck! Hope I don't run into too many of them!

Glad you liked the tour with Frank I thought he did an excellent job and we got to see and do so much for the money! Take care, Carol

For all of you going on a Halloween singles cruise, I've said it before and I'll say it again--you can get some original bargains in costumes on ebay.

Greetings and Salutations :

I just had to reply to this thread after reading the Posts . I usally go with VTG Halloween Cruise but this year I have chosen singlescruise.com out of Port Canavaral for 4 reasons (20th Cruise coming up)

1: Yes its going to 4 ports and I just got off that cruise 2 months and one thing I really didn't like about it is the 4 ports in a row , You just don't have time to relax , You have a sea day the First day and then the Last day . you are constantly on the go ,having a sea Days in between ports to me is allot better
2: THe Halloween cruise out of Port Canavral is going to Nassau , St THomas,St. Maarten . These are my favorite Ports , THey are awesome !!!!
3. I know about 30 cruisers that are going and its going to be Great to see them again Plus the Blender party is in full swing Details will follow soon
4:The Glory is a awesome ship , It will bring back some great memories (Crusie Director Spring Fling 2004)

I'm using my Air Miles and going first Class :-)

Mind you I really enjoy both Companys , They both do a outstanding JOB , Both Companys have there Pro and Cons but you are there to have a good time and you are the only one that can make that happen , Nobody else

Respectfully

Chetter
