Re: which line has the best activities for singles around 50
Depends a bit on what you are interested in, M'59. First, what locations do you want to visit? Second, champagne or beer budget? Third, how active are you - poolside lounger or parasailer? Fourth, do you like larger crowds or smaller crowds (i.e. ship size)? Fifth, do you like art collections or Vegas shows? Last, do you fly or require a nearby port you can drive to?
JFYR, some of the lines have videos that can give you a flavor for their ships.
Offhand, I would think you might want to look at Holland America, Princess, Celebrity or with some of the travel agents who book singles criuises. At 50, I would suppose you are not into balcony jumping or diving into pool nets, so some of the lines known for being party boats might not be a good fit?

Yes, I'm not at all interested in gambling or drinking, just wondering what lido desk or special events are set aside for singles. I will want relaxed, beach-type excursions. For now, budget is tight and anything warm and exotic will do.
Carnival Sensation looks good feature-wise and price-wise, but you may have a younger crowd on a 4 day cruise. You might check access to some of the hotel beaches on the Bahamas. Various lines have singles mixers soon after boarding, and agents who specialize in singles cruises will have private, planned activities.

I know it's 2 years off but you may consider a singles cruise with Vacations To Go, they have a 40+ cruise on Dec. 1st and i'm sure they will do at leasy one of these a year. I'm considering this years myself.
You should visit each cruise lines' website, then read as many reviews as you can.
Personally, I would suggest going on an organized singles cruise for your age group. Check out the Cruisemates singles cruise calendar in the singles section.
Also, I recommend Royal Caribbean International for "more mature" passengers, and, if your budget allows, Crystal and Radisson Seven Seas.
And, hopefully, we will see many more postings on this board from past passengers who can give you more details.
