Europe '08

*Update*

Right now doing recon and checking logistics for a possible small group cruise to the Mid to East Mediterranean sometime in March-May '08. Likely out of Rome or Athens, and 7-12 days, with possible side trips.

Here's the short list (FYI, HAL is generally more single friendly)
Please check VTG for routes.

Days;Dates;Start/End;Line;Ship;Approx pp w/ double occ
7;22-Apr-08;Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy;HAL;Noordam;1,349
10;29-Apr-08;Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy;HAL;Noordam;1,699
10;9-May-08;Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy;HAL;Noordam;1,699
12;21-May-08;Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy;Royal;Legend of the Seas;1,749
12;2-May-08;Athens (Piraeus), Greece;HAL;Rotterdam;2,199
12;14-May-08;Athens (Piraeus), Greece;HAL;Rotterdam;2,199

Looking for an eclectic group of divers, snorkelers, life guards, beach accessories, parrot heads, corporate refuges, and folks who want to go where no blackberry signal has gone before. LOL

Are you looking for more people to participate? Count this monkey in if you need more people. I'm not too far from your hometown.

I'm interested, but for later in the year (Oct. or Nov.). I always take a family land-based vacation during the summer and '08 is no exception -- we've got the vacation planned for the 4th of July week. (My son came up with the bright idea of going home next year for Taste of Chicago, and everybody loves the idea so much that it's turning into a family reunion of sorts.) Then I cruise in the fall. The cruise I'm very seriously considering is Princess Oct. 5. I'm also considering the NCL cruise, but will wait until my Dec. cruise to see if I like NCL and those tiny cabins. I have a feeling I'm going to love freestyle dining, though. I plan to book the '08 cruise in Dec. as soon as I return from Hawaii. I'll keep watching for your posts and see what you end up doing and hope it works for me. It would be a lot of fun going with a small group rather than going solo.

OK, XCB, see first post which I will periodically update. Believe the goal is to get 8 cabins, 16 folks. A bit like doing a dive junket, without having all the participant at hand and a bit more complex.

Hi BTC:

Spring is the target for Europe. Fall is likely a HAL Eurodam cruise, but probably Caribbean. Could be a shorty to check who is living in the reef balls off Half Moon Cay or a 7 day trip with divers.

BTW, my kiddo does Princess and being he's a twig on the Boone tree, kin to one of Chicago's prior mayors. Just BTDT to Hawaii (Maui) nice Maui Ocean Center there for shark diving - $199 a diver.
