Hey everyone, I'm new here and was doing some research for myself and another good friend of mine.
We're two guys in our 20's who had heard stuff about a singles cruise or cruises???
I haven't heard much info or is there stuff on this site I can find about it? We wanted to do a cruise but being two single guys, felt that a regular cruise might be kind of weird.....
Are there advantages or disadvantages to going on a singles cruise rather than regular one, other than the obvious?
Also, is there an average age range on the singles cruise or will we find other people our age on there as well?
Any help is appreciated....neither of us have even been on a cruise...
IMHO, try 3-7 days, Western Caribbean, Carnival over the spring break season for the sweetspot for your demographic. A singles cruise might not be a bad idea - check VTG for singles cruises or scan the posts for various alternatives.

Short 3-5 day Carnival cruises are the way to go for your age group.
Most of the single group cruises draw from the 40+ age range. The cruise I am on in two weeks has an average age of 48 with approximately 200 cruisers. Last time I looked at a list of cruisers and there ages (a month ago), there was 1 person in their thirties, none in their 20's and the rest in the 40, 50, and one or two in their 60's+. However, that was only out of 50 people so I am sure the numbers have changed a little.
Unless you are into significantly older women 50+, I would steer clear of VTG, Cruising for Love, Singlecruises 7 day or longer itineraries.
However, if you can find a singles cruise that is 5 days or less (Cruising for Love may have some), you will have a bit of a lower average age. You can also call these single group cruise companies. They will most likely be honest and tell you. They don't want to disappointed when you get on the ship.
Rule of thumb, the shorter the cruise the younger the passengers.
The ships that do the 3 and 4 day runs to the Bahamas are hardcore party ships with the party going all day and night (not drunken party but musical, dancing party). There is lots of mingling and partying and just having fun for the younger set.
You don't really need a group to do these short cruises. I doubt, for two young men, if a singles group will add much if anything to your experience on these 3-5 day itineraries. More than likely you will spend your nights in the dance club and casino and your days lounging (and snoozing) on the Lido Deck by the pool with a bucket of cold beers on hand. A group cruise can't add anyting to that at all.
Happy cruzin'

ive been on 12 singlescruise.com cruises and two with vtg. the average age is around 35 up. BUT you will find plenty of people in thier mid twenties up. On every cruise I have been on there has been plenty of 20s on them. Singlescruise .com has a 20/30 cruise every year also. i think its in early april . But most cruises ages dont really matter. Myself Iam a big party/ drinker type and i always end up hanging out with people 20s thru 50s just partying all seven days long. go on a vtg or singlescruise.com cruise you will find plenty of people to hang out with.
also I say go with the singles group.. this way u will know there will be a bunch of other singles onboard. i went on many a cruise before i found the singlesgroup..and only really travel with them now. Its great..theres always plenty of people to hang with,,plenty of single women to hang and party with. u will see the singlesgroup kind of break off into friendly groups that hang out togehtr, everyone gets along fine. but likewise people seem to jhnag out togehter. the party people will end up meeting and hanging out..shoppers with shoppers etc. so if u are looking for partying..u will find many people to party with. Iam going on dec 1st with singlescruise.com..we have ages of 25 up to 50 all who just want to hang out laugh..party..beach it all week long. so go for it u will like it
Cool thanks everyone....I appreciate all your help...we'll take all of what you've said into account 8)
I just got back from a VTG singles cruise. At the time of booking, I was told that the average age of this particular cruise was 48. However, I am 48 (49 now) and was one of the youngest in the group. I would say that most of this VTG cruisers were in their late 50's - 60's and above. There was a handful of 30 and 40 somethings and no 20 somethings that I could spot. This was on a Carnival cruise.
The activities were a lot of fun and the price was not bad but for someone in your age group, the pickings (for cruise buddies and other things) will be best on a 5 day or shorter Caribbean cruise on Carnival during spring break or the summer.
I also observed a bit of a Cruising for Love group on the Fantasy and they too were in the 55+ ballpark with no one looking younger than about 40.
The mega VTG singles cruises (350+) of Halloween and New Year's Eve may offer a wide age spread. I don't know.
