Any tips for Carnival Valor single cruisier Female/50

Do you have any tips from other solo cruisers who have cruises Valor?

I'm booked to sail her solo (as a 50th birthday gift to myself) next June.

I'd appreciate any tips specific to Valor that you might be privy to.

Which bars/lounges do the 40+ crowd hang out in?

What on-board activities am I likely to meet other solo cruisers at?

Do they only have one singles meet and greet or do they arrange other single cruiser only activities throughout the week?

Wow! Big 50

I had to laugh, when I viewed your post. I just turned 50, two months ago and I cruise all the time.
I'm taking my 21 year old daughter on the Solstice in November 2008, then in January 2009, I will be solo on the Ruby and Crown Princess on back to back cruises.
I scuba dive, so the Caribbean is a great time.

Getting back to your solo cruise, yipeeee. I bet you can't wait.
There will be no problem meeting singles on the ship, Carnaval will have a singles mixer and many other activities around the entire ship.

I suggest you visit the head Matre D, when you first board the ship, he will inform you on the ages and names of the guest at your table. You can make changes if you desire.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, checking with the head Matre D about table mates. I definitely want to be seated with solo cruisers, preferably more mature, i.e. 40 and older. Anything but 20-somethings or teens but not those in their 80's.

I hope there are lots of singles activities. I may even look for a "singles" group and ask if I can "crash" their party if it looks like fun!

I'm about your age and when I get on board I head for the Maitre D and like the last post said I find out who is sitting at my table (couples, with childern?) Nothing against children but since I'm a empty nester I would rather not sit with them.

You can ask for a singles table (I've been seated at singles tables on both Carnival and Royal) I found that they are alot of fun and there are usually a few good singles to hang with from the available table mates.

Wow, going on a cruise without a single group is risky if you want to meet other singles. The best scenario is that you will meet plenty of other single people and you will get along with the fine, whether they be male or female. The worst is that you will meet just one and not get along with him or her.

Hang out at the disco the first few nights and you will get an idea what the rest of the cruise will be like.
