Default First Time Solo Cruiser!!!

Im a single 31 year old male looking for a cruise. Where I can have fun and mingle with single women around my age. Im leaning towards carnival. any help? Such as which ship and what month to travel. leaving from the gulf coast. Thanks

Also possibly looking for a roomie. Looking to take a 7 - 14 day cruise in the month of May.

Are the Singles cruises any good or what?

If you are looking to get into an instant shipboard romance, call VTG and book a singles cruise. Be forewarned that many of these singles cruises are frequented by people significantly older than you are (late 40's early 50's). Many people (not all) take these single cruises as an alternative to match.com and behave accordingly. If that is what you are looking for, enjoy.

If you are looking for a bit more flexibility or a younger crowd, take a 7 night or shorter cruise. The longer the cruise, the older the passengers. As a single male, you will never be lonely because EVERY cruise has more single women aboard than single men.

Carnival would be your best bet because so many of these actitivies are geared to getting the passengers to interact. Also, their activities are so zany that people tend to relax and let their hair down, so to speak. Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Royal Caribbean, NCL are not quite as single/solo friendly but they are not too bad. Holland, Princess and Celebrity would be an older passenger load.

I cruise solo often and have found Carnival to be the most solo/single friendly.

Anytime of the year would be good for a single male. Avoid spring break (Feb-early Apr) to avoid the drunken college scene. Avoid summer months and christmas to avoid a ship overrun by little people (kids), although Carnival does a marvelous job of keeping the kiddos almost totally hidden from view (camp carnival). However, when the short set stage their Little People Parade throughout the ship, it is heartwarming to watch. They march throughout the ship reciting some "We want Freddie" chant/song that they teach them in Camp Carnival. Very very cute.

Happy cruzin'
