Seeking information!

I have been researching singles' cruises. I have looked into the hosted cruises for singles offered by Cruisemates and Vacations to Go. Is there anyone out there who has taken cruises with both groups who could offer an opinion as to which might be a better choice for a first-timer on her own? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi - CruiseMates cruises are not designed for singles. I realize our name sounds like we might do that for a business, but we don't. Our cruises are just regular cruises and attract mostly couples. Singles are certainly welcome and we have had a few come on our regular cruises, but I don't want you to get the wrong idea.

I have heard good things about VTG's single cruises, however.

Hi, I have cruised 8 times with Vacationstogo.com. I LIKE THEM BETTER than any other singles group. They are well organized and a very honest company. They will get you a great deal and some great singles.

I have cruised once with SinglesCruise.com and they also have great singles cruises. The main problem with them is that they don't have enough travel agents to take care of questions you may have or problems you may have in planning your cruise with them. Sometimes it can be a hassell and other times it can be okay. They book so many cruises that sometimes they get behind in booking people who have already paid their deposit. If you decide to choose them to cruise with.... you must make sure they have booked you on the cruise ship and also have assigned you a cabin. That is one of their major problems.

I have cruised many years with singles groups and I totally love it.

Thank you for your opinion, Lucy. I have booked a cruise with the Vacations to Go single's group to the Mexican Riviera in July. This will be my first cruise on my own, and I am very excited about it. I found another website with posts from others signed up for the same cruise, so I am already meeting some of my fellow passengers to be.

Thanks to you and others with whom I've made contact, I am confident that I made a good choice. The only thing that still bothers me is that I signed up for the roommate matching service...I hope I get somebody compatible! Have you ever had Vacations to Go set you up with a roommate? If so, how did it work out?
