I may have heard some recommendations here and there about this, but not sure ;
Do any cruise lines attempt to seat single or solo guests at a table with other singles for dinner? If it is assigned seating, they might do it as you book your cabin?? or for anytime dinning, maybe they keep one table for people like me who would come in solo or with only one friend??
I've cruised 3 times actually solo even though I had a new cruisemates friend as cabinmate. Once we got a bit bored sitting with each other the whole week with "no shows" for tablemates and another trip I got a bit bored with the same two married couples all week.

On my first solo, I had assigned seating and was placed at a table of solos (not just singles). It was not a good mix, me an 5 young or married men.
My next was anytime dining and could not be placed at a special table, so after sitting alone at a table for 2 the second night, I retreated to cafeteria style with more company.
As a single i was traveling on Celebrity Eclipse, couple of Princesses and Epic.
Epic is the best since the hostess of Living Room organizes dinners for singles, and it is quite fun, since you get a chance to meet a lot of the people. Later solo travelers just get together and go for the dinner, sometimes at specialty restaurant.
Princess was quite good as well, especially Crown Princess - they had solos meeting at pub and lunches where you could meet new people and have dinner with them later.
Celebrity Eclipse was the worst. As captain said: "we don't want to be a dating agency" Thankfully Matre'd was nice and tried to get single travelers at the same table.. only if you ask...
the full proof best way to meet other singles is a singles cruise period.. try vacations to go.com. i cruise solo all the time.
you are right Kevin about singles cruises. My first cruise was with STI and it was good, except I do better with 2 to 4 - vs. a table of 8 that we had every evening and most breakfasts ! The same 2 or 3 people talked 80% of the time at a table for 8. Lunch was the only chance to "make a date" with someone, and I failed at that.
