We're planning a South Pacific cruise on Renaissance the first week of January. We know this is the "rainy season," but were wondering if anyone had any experience with cruising Bora Bora, Tahiti, etc. in January. What's the chance from your experiences of rain significantly interfering with the cruise experience?
Chris -- *IF* you can possibly hold out, CruiseMates is planning a CruiseMates cruise on Renaissance to Tahiti for February 8th. We are going to offer a special rate, cocktail party, etc etc etc and the comraderie of cruising with you online friends. We hope to have the details out very very soon.
We were ther last March, and there were rains, but generally they come and go very quickly. We did have one day that was washed out by rain, but out of 10 that isn't too bad. The good thing about the Ren trip is atht you are in port every single day, most islands for 2 full days, so even if it rains for a little while you still have the opportunity to see everything.
We are going on R4 on Jan 9. Here is a website that has a ton of info on Ren cruises, Tahiti in particular.
<www.cruiseclues.net/rentahiti> This is by a private person who accumulated a lot of info for others to use.
We are in Cabin # 7121 if we are on the same dates.
