Default Kauai- Snorkel

Has anyone had experience with snorkelling in Kauai? I'm hoping to get suggestions on the best & safest sites in Kauai. Would even like suggestions on your experience with a pre-arranged snorkel tour.
Thanks, Ashley

you will love the radiance. we will be sailing on her for the third time (!) to alaska this june. it is the smoothest, quietest ship ever..let me know how it handles the open seas of the pacific..

I have always enjoyed snorkeling at Poipu Beach Park when in Kauai. It is relatively shallow, but lots of fish, and easy access from a sandy beach with restrooms. You can also eat at Brennecke's at the Beach which is right across the street (dinner or lunch). You will want to stick to the south shore as the north shore is more rough. It is easy to get to from Nawilili port if you rent a car. I recommend this as the best way to see the most on the Islands. Plan to see Waimea canyon in the morning, stop at Poipu for lunch and a swim, then drive to Princeville/Hanalai area for the afternoon. You will see a lot of beautiful country...I love Kauai much more than Maui.
