Default air to Tahiti

DH & I are booked for Tahitian Princess Jan. 2004. (Did not book with Princess) We don't have our airfare and so far have not been able to find anything less than $1500.pp. We'll be flying from PHL to LAX then to PPT. Is that the going rate? Any other suggestions???

Shari

I am leaving on tahitian princess in june and paying about the same. on cruise critic in past articles people suggested going with a company like tahiti nui and getting air and a few days of hotel there for the same price. Other people bought air from lax to ppt through princess and took care of their air on their own. my final advice is to try air tahiti nui, air new zealand, air france and even hawaian airlines(through honolu) to see. for us, we just missed a special air new zealand was doing, which would have been $500 less.

Hi Shari:
Larry from Wilmington here. We used miles to get to LAX and booked an air deviation through Princes which was $75.00PP above the $739.00PP airfare to fly on Air Tahiti Nui. We have flown on Princess' charter airline Omni on a Renaissace cruise and you really don't want to especially if you can get on ATN for a little extra. ATN has brand new planes while the DC-10's that Omni uses are about 25 years old. What sounds better?

We are going on the same cruise. Jan 8? You can check OIXO.com They have good international rates. I booked through Princess because i inderstand that the air to tahiti is not always so reliable and if you miss a flight you may end up waiting for days for another. Sidestep .com is a good search too. Plesant Holidays offers packages there too.
