Default Hotels in Hawaii

We are going on our first cruise in July. I am going to book a pre cruise hotel in Honolulu, what is the best one to book? Close to the harbour?

There are tons of hotels in Honolulu, and you probably want to be near or on Waikiki beach. The harbor (Pearl Harbor) is not near the beach, but it is a short drive from the hotels (or maybe a cab). If you look on expedia you can get a good idea of cost then pick where & how much.

You should try to get a general idea of where things are in Honolulu. Look it up on line or buy a guide. You can walk to the zoo and the beach and the hula show, as well as dinner out at restaurants and other hotels on the beach. Don't skip the Royal Hawaiian, just to see a glimpse of old Hawaii.

Thanks for the advice. I did book a room on Waikiki beach and I will probably buy a book on Hawaii before I go.

We did the Hilton Hawaiian Village 2 days pre-cruise and it was very nice. They have a nightly hula show by the pool preceded by the torch run where the guys run thru the grounds with flaming torches and light the pool are and grounds. Very cool. The rooms were nice and the grounds spectacular. Also right on Wakiki Beach.
