Default Help - Volcanos National Park - NCL

I'm looking into the shore excursions for the Hilo stop on NCL's Wind cruise. NCL is charging $47 a head, whereas the website for Volcanoes National Park only charges $10/car. Could anyone provide advice on how to setup these trips independent of cruise lines (like which port would we dock on for NCL's tour of the islands, is it worth the trouble to rent a car to get from the port to the site, or are there taxis?)

Thanks
Wayne

I hope you get this post. Do your homework on the sites you want to visit, then rent a car. If you drive to the volcano from Hilo, you can also include a trip to the black sand beach and turtle sancuary at Punalua.

Regards
