post cruise hotels

Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel near the airport in Honolulu? We had to book a flight home for the day after the cruise docks. ( I know ... an extra day in Hawaii ..how tragic!) We would like something that is not too far from the pier & the airport. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing is all that far from anything in the Honolulu area, but staying outside the city/Waikaki area just to shorten up a cab ride might not work. Anything you find out in that direction will not be a resort or tourist hotel as that is an industrial residential area.
Why not stay in one of dozens of nice places along Waikaki beach?
You don't need to do Hyatt or Sheraton Surfrider, not just for one night.
Look into something like the New Otani which is on the Diamondhead end of Waikaki Beach. It is a short walk into the hustle and bustle of downtown but is separated from the crowds by a park and the Honolulu Zoo. Their in house restaurant, The Hau Tree Lanaii is a nice spot to eat outdoors and enjoy a real Waikaki sunset.
