snuba

Will be on an NCL Hawaii cruise and would like to try snuba, especially in Maui or Kauai. Does anyone have any experience with this sport to give recommendations or report on how fun it was? We are certificied scuba divers, but would like to try snuba to be able to bring along our teenage daughter.

Its lots of fun and great to do if you have kids younger then 12. Everyone can experience the dive together.... we thought it was Great, ...just like suba except the tank stays up on the surface of the water.

Thanks, Michael. We have a 15-year old and, while we're certified for scuba, would like to try snuba so she can join us. Did you do it through a cruise-sponsored excursion?

I did it to Molokini Crater off of the south shore of Maui and it was really fun and easy. You get a little lesson while you're going to the crater, and by the time you're there, you're ready to get in the water. I scuba too, and it was fun to scuba without the gear and to go with friends who hadn't scuba'd before.
