Default Cruise Line Package -or- Ala Carte?

Would I be better off taking the cruise line (NCL-Pride of America) package option that also includes airfare (from Tampa to Honolulu) and a few extra nights in a local hotel....-OR-....make any arrangements ala carte?

I'm looking for CHEAPER versus better.

Cruise Lines tend to use better hotels - so yu will probably get cheaper by doing it on your own.

Unless you are a seasoned traveler, you may find that having everything handled in a package easier and less stressful.

Suppose the cruise line has issues and you depart late or arrive late. Suppose the airline is late. You would have to make calls to all of the parties involved. The package may give you one contact person for all issues that may arise.
