Smile getting a little nervus

My wife and I are leaving in 35 days on a 14 day hawaii cruse om the Sapphire Prince with a balcony. This is are first ctuise (YAAAAAA) I was reading apost that stated that when you dock in Maui (Lahaina)that there is not much around the dock we were planning spending the day at the beach there can we walk or are going to have to find a ride. If so are there busses around or cabs. and are there any good beach spots around?

Dh ... we have a cruisemates group sailing on the Sapphire Princess Hawaii route leaving next Saturday.

I'll be posting daily reports from the ship, so you can feel free to read along to experience it all before you sail.

Maui is a tender port. The ship doesn't dock there, and you're required to tender to shore from the ship. Lahaina is a booming little town, so whoever said there is nothing at the dock probably wasn't there.

Though there's no public beach right in town, there's no problem getting a bus or shuttle to a beach. Maui has many of them!

During our cruise, if you're reading my virtual cruise, feel free to post any questions you might have, and I'll do my best to answer them.

A tender port is one that does not have the facility for the ship to actually dock, so passengers are taken ashore in launches, this may sound a problem but as long as you are the slightest bit mobile it is fine.
