"IF" you could get one fabulous designer item to take on a cruise, what would it be? How about a pair of Jimmy Choos's or Manlolo's? Would a designer gown from Vera Wang or Versace float your boat? How about a Judith Lieber jeweled evening bag?

Since we are wishing, the list can be long I would love the Judith Lieber bag..I tiny jeweled piece of pure glamour

What piece of fantasy fluff, would make you sigh?

I think a Bob Mackie gown designed personally for me! Sequins and slit up to there, showing lots of cleavage, in royal blue or teal.

Issey Miyake! Dresses, pants, jackets in his pleats collection you can tie in knots and it will unwrinkle the minute you pull it out of the suitcase. I've picked up a dress, pants, blouse and several perfect items on Ebay.

Does anyone else buy practically everything on Ebay? Although outside Issey's "Pleats Please" line, I don't generally by clothes on Ebay because you can't return them. The good news is you can sell it to someone else when you don't want it anymore.

I'm not sure what Mary's pleats are like, but if they never wrinkle it must be a similar line.

Oh to be rich! But it's more fun to score a big hit on Ebay, like a $1000 Issey Miyake gown for $100, the tags on of course!

If you want to see some lovely evening accessories, visit Maya in the Ebay Stores area. I knew her in New York (my local flea market) and now she's selling all over the world on this web site. Cut silk velvet wraps and evening jackets....beautiful! Several pieces I've had for years will go to the grave with me. She's a real artist.

Anne help me shop E-Bay. Its just overwhelming if you search for ladies formalwear, I don't know designers so where is a good place to start? I like clean, classic lines with a hint of sparkle if that helps.

I'd be delighted to give you the ins and outs of shopping on Ebay.

Of course everything is based on search. Try long black skirt or black evening pants with your size, if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking for lovely evening scarves, I recommend going to Ebay Stores and typing in "Maya" to pull up this designer's stunning collection of cut velvet evening jackets and stoles.

But I go to Smart Bargains and Blue Fly for clothes more often. You can return anything you don't like. Also, Neiman Marcus slashes the price of clothing in its "Sale" area and again you can return items.

I suggest you tell me the sort of items you're looking for. I'll be glad to pass along what I know.

Anne

Thank-you Anne. My problem is that is don't know specifically what i want until i see it. So i could spend hours and hours just trying to search thru all the clothing on Ebay. It would be so much easier i am guessing if i was looking for something specific, right?

No, you can't search Ebay until you know exactly what you want. I suggest going to your best local department store (Saks, Neimans) and trying on clothes. If you find a designer you really like and you know your size write it down on a pad. Then search Ebay.

Smartbargains has Loehman's Back Room with nice clothes and Blue Fly are great too. Here, you can return stuff.

Another good place to look for designer fashions is a Nieman Marcus Last Call clearance center. If you have one near you can often find some great deals on designer wear. Many outlet malls have them.

Take care,
Mike

We have a K&G wearhouse near me, this one is just for men, and they have such great suits, tuxes, and a fabuloous selection of everything else, too. Really a good place to go for nice cruise clothes.
