I'm going on my first cruise in July and I was wondering whether you all deal with styling your hair every day on the cruise (straightening, curling, etc..) or if you just throw it up in a bun and go all natural. I mean with all the humidity, is it even worth it?
I don't have hair long enough to put up, so I must deal with it daily, If it's a sea day, I can wear a hat by the pool, then deal with it later, for the evening. Velcro rollers and a shot of hairspray will work for me too.

The best strategy seems to be to shower and shampoo one's hair before dinner. Most of the evening activity is below decks, where it's air conditioned, so the humidity is not a problem. Daytime tends to have activities that can mess up one's hair, with tours in the heat and humidity in port and swimming or sunning or whatever at sea, so it will need a shampoo by the end of the afternoon anyway. Just comb your hair out or pull it into a pony tail in the morning so it looks presentable and don't fret about it until the end of the day.
Most of my days were spent on the beach or sight seeing so I never fussed over my hair. pretty much wash and wear. At night I would spritz in some styling spray and let it curl up. I figure the less fuss the better for me. Have a great cruise and just enjoy yourself.

for the day is wash & blow dry, ponytail, headband or barettes.
For evenings wash, blow dry- curling iron for formal nights.
I usually get my hair done for the first formal night.
I use clip on hair extensions. Some are like pony tails, some are on hair clips, some are on combs. All I do is put my hair in a pony tail and clip this over it. I have many different styles from short, and spiky for day, to long and wavy for night. No more coming back from an all day excurson, hot and tired, then having to deal with hair. Just wash and dry, pull it up, and clip on my nicely styled hair.
I got mine at hairpieces. com, and beautytrends. I like Revlon and Look of Love the best. There is a website called Feke which has good prices on Look of Love.
I have really curly hair. Although I havent been on a cruise yet, I suppose its going to be like the beach. In that case there is absolutely no use to straighten my hair. Im not going to fight with himidity, wind and time on my vacation. I plan to wash and mousse. On formal night I think I will put it in a ponytail and pin it up 'fancy' with bobbi pins leaving pieces out to curl. If its curly....go with the curl!
go for the natural look. I always put it up wet whether its a bun or thrown togehter updo look. It can be casual or dressy so it's perfect. Your vacation only lasts so long do not waste it doing your hair

I guess I'm a lucky one, It takes me about 5 mins to do mine, I have the short spikey look, It is so easy to do, no fuss about up or down, it just takes some got to be glued and go. Looks good with just about everything.
Don't worry about the hair, your there to have fun, and who cares what other people think, just be your self. The only person I'm trying to impress is my hubby anyway.
So have fun and enjoy!
I taught myself how to make clip on hair extensions. This doesn't work to well if you are going to the beach. If you are going to dinner you can attach hair to match your natural hair color to a "banana clip" and instant hairstyle without the trouble. Here is one of the banana clip styles you can buy. However it's cheaper to just make them. I found a great website for instruction on how to make your own just PM me.

Okay we think alike. I'm just cheap so I learned how to make my own.
