dressy cocktail dress or gown?

what do you pack? one or the other or both?
For a 7 night cruise i pack both, the long gown for the Captains Welcome Aboard Party and the cocktail dress or dressy dinner suit for the Farewell Party.

Just for packing reasons, I take the cocktail dresses, saves a lot of luggage space, but thats just me, the long gowns are perfectly fine for those nights.

I packed cocktail dresses for exactly the same reason as Donna.

For me it's a dressy pant outfit. I think you will look glamorous in cocktail, a gown or pants!
