Default Cover-Ups?

What do you wear over your swimsuit at the pool, beach, buffet etc?
I have a white cotton/gauze big shirt that i wear, the only drawback is that when it gets wet it sticks to my suit and you can see thru it.
Pareos and swimskirts are cute, but i like something that actually covers when i have had enough sun, i was thinking along the lines of a short terry cloth cover-up, not a robe, any ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.

I wore a little jumper / t-shirt dress over my suit. Since I don't lay out in the sun it actually kept me comfortable while lounging in the shade.

I have a few cute sarongs that I wear. You can buy some really cute ones on the beach in St.Marten that are inexpensive. I don't do alot of sun either so in addition to a ton of sunscreen I usually just put on a white t-shirt or a tank.

Lisa,

What do you wear over your swimsuit at the pool, beach, buffet etc?

Usually a polo shirt and a pair of shorts. Nylon/lycra swimsuits dry very quickly, so I can put them back on a few minuts after emerging from the water without soaking the seat of the shorts.

Norm.

I have a pair of pull on pants (ankle length) that are in the same fabric as my red print bandeau suit. I have another solid black pair that are pretty see throughish that go with my "basic black" suit. Those I got at J.C. Penney's. I have a lot of broken vessels on my legs so I don't really like laying about bare legged (plus all that sun just isnt' good for any of us), but with the pants I still feel stylish and i get so many compliments when I wear the red outfit. They were kinda' expensive but, hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.
By the way they were made by Jantzen but I bought them through Casual (DUH, can't remember the rest of the name of the catalog) ____.

Sometimes I wear a pareo which covers my bottom half pretty well since I'm only 5'0" tall, even if I tie them under my armpits!

I have a black open weave coverup that I wear on my way to and from the water. It's just warm enough to take off the chill of damp skin, but lets in enough sun to warm you back up! I also love it because it makes me feel not so self conscious about hanging out in my swimsuit. I got it at JC Penny's when I bought my black swim suit last year.

Finally remembered the catalog name is "Casual Living". They don't sell just clothing, but also have lots of those other cutsie things.

Lisa,
I just remembered that I also have a pair of thin cream color pants that I bought in mexico. They are great because they go with anything. I don't know if your cruise is the western caribbean, but if it is that is a good thing to buy and they weren't expensive

I simply put on a pair of shorts over my bathingsuit if going on an excursion or at the pool and its time to get some lunch, works for me.

Lisa, Juicy makes those cute terry babydolls. This season they also came out with little jumpers. I have a babydoll, the straps are removable and it's the best little cover up.....comfy, cute and hides things when you're walking around deck : ) Also, if you go to Victoriassecret.com you can find the same thing, I don't believe they are Juicy brand....but who cares!!! One of my other great finds, went to Walmart one day in the fall and they had all the summer stuff on clearence. Found a black cotton mini skirt for $2 !!!! I wore that one day with a tank top as my cover up.

I just bought a sleevless knee-length zip-up hooded terry at Marshalls. I found it in the lingerie dept, but it is definitely a cover-up.

I have a long tank-top kind of cover up that I got on Padre Island forever and a half ago. It covers everything up, but is still very cute, and because it's white, it makes my tan look amazing... Also covers you up enough that you can go in the buffet without feeling awkward.

I have found that any terry cloth cover up is really hot. Better to go with a gauze- type fabric.
