Default For us ladies. Are cute Capris still fashionable for cruises?

I remember about 2 years ago there was a thread about capris. I remember I think it was ??Steph(inTexas) who scanned in a photo of some cute ones with pink flamingos on; or she was the person who had some with foo-foo drink pictures on them. I never could find any quite that nice here in Canada!!!!
Now I still love capris-as they hide a few more bulgy spots than mid-thigh shorts!! You can wear sandals, flipflops, even runners for an excursion.
Do you think they are still OK for a middle-age woman to wear?(Not on formal night, but I bet you they probably have some beautiful capris you could wear to formal nights.)
No matter what-I will probably wear mine!
Has anyone found any new patterned capris this Spring????
Bye for now. Brenda

Brenda, they are alive and well all over North America. A fun casual look in summer prints, for daytime, and I think in dressier fabrics, with nice shoes, a fun look for casual nights......like resort casual....jmho

So many woman love this style, look great, and feel more comfortable..

Me too on the plus size...and I would rather wear capris than shorts in all the but hottest weather. I even have some evening crop pants, made of embroidered silk that I wear with a sparkly top on either formal or informal nights.

Default For the Ladies: Are Cute Capris Still Fashionable on Cruises

Hi, Brenda, Miss you in Chit Chat. I just bought a new pair of capris yesterday in aqua styles like jeans. I must have tried on gazillions of them and all were too long. But I found a store in Pasadena that carries plus size petites. Guess what? They fit!

Capris are still in style. So are Bermudas, and Gouchos. The only thing I don't like about Capris is as a petite I think I look shorter in them then in long pants or short, shorts. They look best with a slide, mule, or flip flop, if you wear them with keds they look best with no socks which of course shorten the leg. I brought some gouchos to bring on my next cruise. I always look for fabrics that don't wrinkle much to make for easy packing. I will bring my capris too.

I never wear capris on my plus size body. They actually make my legs look bigger than they already are so I stick to shorts or pants.

I zipped into a store while my youngest was at Ballet on Friday and tried on about 5 pairs of capris. Unfortunately I did not buy any. I will keep trying though!lol
I sure wish I lived somewhere warmer and could wear them all year round!
Take care everyone. Bye for now. Brenda

Brenda, have you ever tried the Gloria Vanderbilt line? All of her pants (long, crop, capris, shorts) fit me better than any other pant I've tried. I am kicking myself now because I only bought one pair of denim capris...wish I'd bought two or three!!

Liz Claiborne also makes a beautiful line of capris.

I have found that capris on us "less tall" women look best when worn with a small heel. I usually wear them with sandals with a tiny little heel - just enough to give my legs some length.

Becky, No I have not seen that brand of capris. Maybe when I take a trip to the USA during the summer I will seek out different brands & hopefully some with a nice pattern too.
Dorothy-Yes I bet a small heel would look good! (I would probably wipe out even with a small heel!lol)
Bye for now. Brenda

I also like capris with kitten heels or wedge heels.
I am very short!
Today at work I wore black capris with a print cotton top and a back blazer! You can really dress them up or down.

I feel they are fine for day wear and look best on middleaged women as middle aged women usually do not have much of a butt anymore and capris make your butt look bigger. Not such a hott look for young women though.

I personally do not wear them to dinner.

Yes, Yes, Yes .............. we Floridians definitely love capri's. You can't go anywhere here without seeing them (yes, evening wear also). I'm planning on taking some on the Disney cruise in September, somedays they work better for me than shorts. I've found that I absolutely love Lands End slacks & capri's, they wear so beatifully & last for ages. They are pricey, but look for sales & they are a great buy!

Now I don't feel guilty about my parrot print capri pants....As a plus petite I don't feel I can wear shorts anymore except as part of a coverup for the pool outfit.. We were on a cruise when there was a woman who wore tight, tight, tight white tights with short tops... almost the entire time... and trust me .. she was not a small size.. But... folks..life is to short to worry about what everybody else thinks...if you like them and you think they look good on y ou wear them., but look in the full length mirror first before going out of the cabin...
