Default Perfume in the Caribbean

I know people used to get bargains on perfume in the Caribbean. Is this still true? Are the perfumes real or fake? I was thinking I might like to buy a fragrance while there. Is this a worthwhile idea money-wise? Where are the good places to shop?

Hi Judy,
Believe it or not I can find the best prices on old favorites, when I precrusie in Fll, at Sample Road, Festivale.

In the Caribbean, all the stores really have the same prices. The ports do not get any new launches of perfume till about 6 months after we get it at home.

Start saving all those perfume inserts in magazines of the ones you think you would like. It will have all the pricing right on it to compare in port.

Trip, with her book & tea!

The best place to buy perfume is in Grand Cayman on Front Street. You can see the store from your ship. It's a pink building. Mateli

In St. Maarten the store is called Lipstick.
Check the sales on the ship
Know your prices before you go.

Default Perfumes

There are some nice cosmetic shops in Nassau. One of the things that I have noticed is that they carry perfumes that sometimes are hard to find in the states. For example, Lancome still makes a perfume called Poeme, but it is not always available here. I also bought some great fragrance on St. John, but it is made in St. Thomas. It is called White Ginger and I love it. I also love that it is from the Caribbean so when I wear it, it makes me think of my great trip!

I wear a Chanel fragrance which is about $15-$20 cheaper in the Caribbean than my local department stores. My DH's Ralph Lauren fragrance is about $10-$15 cheaper. Plus, there's no sales tax
