Dare I bring up umentionables? Foundations, we women are told, provide the basis for what's goes on top of them. I don't mean to pry, (well, maybe a little).

Do you do just daily basics when you cruise, or do you like to wear something delicious under your shorts and tee while you do shore excursions that's your secret? What about under evening clothes? Do you bring something a little special for your DH or significant other?

Do tell us! I hope we can have fun with this? None of this is meant to offend.

For general daywear, think what's going to pack most compactly. So-called "thong" or "g string" styles tend to pack a LOT more compactly than other step-ins, and "bra tops" fold a lot more compactly than standard tops with separate brassieres.

What about under evening clothes? Do you bring something a little special for your DH or significant other?

That's certainly a great way to get "DH" to look forward to formal nights with eager anticipation!

BTW, in concert with this strategy, check your timing carefully and make sure, when you book, that your cruise won't fall at "that time of the month"... or "DH" may be very frustrated....

I packed a couple of new special things to surprise my DH with. They didn't take up much space but well worth the effort.

Well...on our last cruise, I happen to be in my sister's cabin while she was unpacking...she had packed some very nice undies. Really pretty stuff! She said she had brought them special for the cruise...and it felt nice to pack and unpack them, not to mention wear them....

Hummmmm....so next time, I'm doing the same. it was just something I had never given any serious thought to. I usually just packed the 'daily basics' travel light stuff...but next time I'm going to give packing my personals a little more thought!

for daytime wear i go very practical, colored cotton high-cut briefs, cotton works the best for me when it gets hots and humid
i have a strapless, backless underwire long-line bra that i wear under my formal dress, it lifts and holds about everything.
I will splurge on black ultra sheer pantyhose for formal nights.
As for lingerie- well.... our teenage son sails with us.
I love the Lands End cotton knit t-shirt nightgowns, you can get them at Sears.
