Default Baring your midriff

What does everyone think about the short shirts -- for women of a certain age?
This person has a flat stomach and not an ounce of fat ... she is also almost 53.
Should she or shouldn't she?

In the past year, she has worn a 2-piece belly-baring outfit on formal night!

No, it's not I!!!

If she has the body to make the outfit look good, then why not?

AFAIC, age has nothing to do with it.

Norm.

Default Baring Your Midfriff

I agree with Trip. Same goes for cleavage. Age DOES mean something.

I'm voting with Norm on this one. If she looks good, who cares what her age is. That said, I have known some "mature" ladies who might not look like what they think they see in the mirror! But, if they are happy and their DH or whomever is too, why not?

Traditional Saris show the midriff... and they are worn by women of all ages in India...

Trip,

It's about apperance rather than age. I have seen some women who look old enough to be senior citizens at eighteen and some women whom I would card if I ran a bar who were past sixty.

If she has the body and shape for it, for casual wear why not.
If she wants to wear something midriff baring for formal wear, i think it should have some sort of sheer covering over it.

IMHO, it's always a little sad to see a lady that is trying to dress waaay younger than her age - especially if she doesn't have the figure for it.
As far as Indian saris, that is a cultural issue. Indian women don't wear saris to purposely expose their tummies, but Western women wear belly shirts to purposely expose them.

"In the past year, she has worn a 2-piece belly-baring outfit on formal night!" Now that's REALLY sad....
