Have you ever cruised a theme cruise, or on Halloween sailing?

We did a 60's music theme cruise on the old Westerdam. There were many people dressed up, on certain nights and they looked great! And on Halloween, which we sailed a couple of times, the costume contest was amazing...What some people come up with is ingenious! The winner on one, was a Spanish Fly. He had a sombrero, wings, and a Mexican blanket! No one really knew what he was, till the contest, and then people roared. Also on passenger talent shows, style, comes into play, and you think...Just how did they pack all that?

Have you ever sailed a theme cruise, or dressed to thrill?

Never did a theme cruise, but a costume -- preferably original -- is a "must" on a Halloween cruise.

In the old days of Commodore, they had a standing order of theme nights. Cozumel was, what else but, Mexican; one other night was rock 'n roll, and the other was Mardi Gras. Since it sailed from N.O. the Mardi Gras nights were really something.

I saw on Carnivals web site that on Halloween they will be doing photos with M & M characters. I didn't get it either, then they explained that Carnival has entered into a genture with Mars Candy Co.

We boarded the Oosterdam on Halloween 2004.
Barely anyone had costumes on. The ship had a few Halloween decorations out by the Lido pool.
In the casino some of the employees wore costumes.
