Default Pass the hat ...

Do you wear a hat when you're cruising [or on excursions] in the warmer climes?
Straw? Baseball cap?
Sometimes the sun really beats down ... and you can't put suntan lotion on your head!
Or can you?

I most definitely wear a hat when out on excursions. I have one of those packable straw hats plus a blue wide brimmed hat from the Zaandam and a white one from WDW.

Default Pass the Hat

I plan to take two packable hats for the Century trip in December along with lots of suntan lotion!

Funny Story, I once embelllished a straw hat, and it came out fabulous. I carried it on the plane and coincidentally a girl on the plane going on the same cruise admired it. I told her she could borrow it on the cruise...

This was my first cruise, and was confusing at the luggage drop off area, and guess where my hat stayed, when I left the luggage!! I bet some steavadors wife looked smashing in my hat!!

Mostly on the ship and excursions I will wear a straw visor..I did make another hat though..boy I was p'o'd!

Don't take one, hats do not look good on me. Did buy one at Tulum but ended up not being able to wear because of the wind!

Default Hat headers unite!

I am blessed to have the irish/german fair skin. Just look at me and I freckle! I have a straw hat that believe it or not never crushes whenI pack it and sometimes I jazz it up a bit with a scarf or whatnot, but the overall favorite is my baseball cap from the marina where we got our boat or of course the have to have classic redsox hat being the NewEnglander that I am!

I wear a visor so I don't burn my face.

Oh, those words are dear to this Parrothead's heart!
DH and I have decorated straw hats for concerts. But I never thought about doing it for a cruise!

Thanks.
I know skin cancer can pop up anywhere, and I need to protect my very fair, Irish skin!

I wear a lot of visors and have a wide brim straw hat that I just love. However, I don't see many straw hats anymore, so I think, "Do I look dorky?" I have a small head and this hat has elastic on the inside so it fits me really well, and stays on in a strong breeze. I have had my head sunburn (where my hair parts) too many times! I don't normally embellish my straw hat, because for me, less if best . I also have a Tilley, but it doesn't fit as well as my good ole straw!

Default For the guys

suncreen and/or a hat is a must have if you have any type of hair loss.
A burned scalp is no fun, it really hurts.

Absolutely! And the first time it happens, you can't quite figure out what is going on -- until it starts PEELING! UGH! That was gross and put me on a fast-track learning curve!
