Default Attire for Montevideo, Uruguay

Ladies I need your Help.

My husband & I are leaving for Montevideo, Uruguay soon. What type of attire will I need? Are jeans worn in the city? Is the attire dressy, business-like, or casual.

Thank you,

Barb

Barb the only suggestion i could make would be to check out some travel guides like Fodor's or Frommers maybe?

You should be fine if you wear neat "casual" attire approriate to the season. If you are taking a tour that will visit any churches, though, be sure to wear fairly modest attire (a skirt that's below the knee, a top that comes down to the skirt, fully covers the shoulders, and absolutely does not display "cleavage," and some sort of head covering such as a hat or a scarf) on that tour out of respect for the local culture.

Norm.
