We are going on NCL Star in May to Alaska.......I usually wear dresses to dinner, but this time I'm going for slacks & tops.......now the problem....what kind????? Cotton camp shirts...........colored nice t-shirts......sweaters.........button up nice blouses.........I've seen women in slacks & tops....but never really paid attention to what the tops were.......
Help........I'm at a loss....maybe it's a senior moment?!?!?!!??!
Hi Sharon,
People really don't dress much different for dinner in the dining room an an Alaska cruise than the Caribbean. Wear what is comfortable for you and nicer than a plain T-shirt. You can always pack a nice sweater if you are chilly in the dining rooms and for outside on deck.
On my first Alaskan cruise, I ended up buying tops in the on board shops. My sweater just wasn't warm enough, especially since we like to stroll a bit on deck before and after dinner. Since then, I always pack a plain black turtleneck top and a couple of wraps, plus a sweatshirt when heading for northern climates.
Just FYI
Marty
for casual dinners you can't go wrong with a sweater twin-set, some nice polo type shirts, and some nice blouses, i would stay away from the t-shirts unless they are linen, fine cotton or silk.
