Hopefully all the changes won't drive you too crazy. We're here to help when you have questions, and I think you'll grow to like the new forums as much more or than the previous version pretty quickly.

For PMs, right under your username at the top(ish) of the screen, there should be a link titled "Private Messages" -- click this link to go to your PM inbox.


Once you're in your inbox, you can send new PMs by clicking on the "Send New Message" link in the column of links on the left hand side of the page.



Hope this helps. Let me know if you could use some more clarification.

Marty if you are in a thread and want to PM someone in the thread then click on the person's name and a box will open and one option is "send a private messge" click on that then you send the person a message.

I have a problem with PM's

I get every single PM twice. If somebody answers me I first get one message with my former message in it (quote) but nothing written by this other person. It is practically an empty message just with my former message in it. Then I get a second PM, now with my message again (quote) and the writing from this other person. Happens with every message that way.

If somebody contacts me first I also get his/her message twice. Then I reply and if that other person writes me back again, it starts all over as I described it above. Weird.

All double messages come in within same minute.

Is there something wrong in my settings?

Henry, have you gone to User CP? Click on List Messages on the left side. There's a block above the messages that says something like Inbox Folder. There's an option there to see Sent Messages. Click that and you should see the messages you've sent.

Hope you find it and it hasn't gone off into cyberspace !

Hi Spectra, I'm surprised no one has answered you. The only thing I can suggest is that you check your settings under User CP.

Go to Settings and Options, Edit Options and you'll see an area to change your private message settings. I don't see anything about two messages, but it might be the last option? If that doesn't work I'd suggest you email Mike M. Click on his name (he often posts on the "Ask Cruisemates Staff" board) and you'll find his Contact Info. Good luck !
