Default 2 questions

1) Is there a provision on this site to be alerted via e-mail when somebody responds to my post ?

2)At what point will I no longer be a cruise maniac ?

You won't be "alerted," I don't think, but if you go to "user CP," (top left corner) it will show all your threads that have new posts.

I am not sure, but I think you are no longer a cruise maniac when you have 100 posts. I forget the new term used, but you get a new title.

Hopefully one of the mods will reply, they know more.

! I am wrong! I see you have over 200 posts. It must be 500 posts and then you get my title! Sorry!

Go to User CP. under Settings & Options, click Edit Options. Midway down is a section called Default Thread Subscription Mode. This is where you can setup your notifications for subscribed threads.

Henry,

Yes: You can notified when there is a response to a thread that you have started or posted to:

You can do this two ways:

One: UserCP -> Edit Options. Click "User CP" at the top left of all message board pages then select "Edit Options" in the side bar on the left side of the page. You may need to scroll down to see it.
Scroll down and select your "Default Subscription Mode". You can select it for Instant Email Notification.

Two: You can "Subscribe to a Thread" when you "Reply to Thread". Scroll down below the message box and select "Notification Type". This will allow you to only receive notifications for that specific post.

There are many useful and fun things in "User CP" and I encourage everyone to check them out.

The designations of "Cruise Maniac", "Beginner"....etc. are determined by the number of posts made. Here are the levels

Beginner: 1 - 10 posts
Passenger: 10 - 100 posts
Cruise Maniac: 100 - 250 posts
First Mate: 250 - 500 posts
Yeoman: 500 - 100 posts
Admiral: 1000+ posts

Take care,
Mike

Well Henry, I just got a new title. I guess at 900 posts you become "Captain."

When I listed the rankings I saw that "Yeoman" was the level "above" First Mate. A Yeoman is basically a clerical position on a ship or in Naval operations and not above a First Mate on a ship. Because of that I went into the system and changed Yeoman to Captain. I can do that.

I didn't miss it I changed it after the fact.

Take care,
Mike

So actually at 900 posts you are still the same-you just changed the title.

Basically yes: 500 to 1000 posts will now give the rank as Captain.

Older posts will still list a person as Yeoman but new posts will give them the rank as Captain. It would take a time consuming database update to update the old posts.

Take care,
Mike
