Posted information question

I've seen this information but never really paid much attention to it so was wondering if anybody with some insight might be able to shed some light on this for me.

I am a "Senior Member; First Mate" with 452 posts. My question is what does this really mean? Does someone move up the ranks after a certain amount of posts? Does one move up from first mate to ???????????? I know everytime you start a thread or replay you get an additional post but I just don't know what it is for besides the fact CM is keeping track.

I can't be the only one who doesn't know.

Thank you my friends.

I have my 'senior card' here as well....but i also don't know what that means. Would like to know the criteria and different ranks myself :)
