one thing that is realy fun to do with the 2 way raidios ,is to just "channle surf" the radio and you can meet realy fun people .it is cinda like a phone with no phone bill
since most of the radios have 2 mile ranges the only people you can talk to though are ppl on the ship. the attachment is kinda reffering to my experience hehe i got some realy nice friends
Om my last cruise (CaRnIVaL) i brought my 2-ways and i had soo much fun listin in on people. I didnt meet them but i liked tricking the. I would push the call button and they would be lke did you call, no i didnt it was you. and all this stuff try it sometime!!!!!!!
oh thats cool..so there just plain walkie-talkies..How far do they reach? CVan they reach another ship or just people on the ship?
And wouldnt it affect the signals on the ship like for the captain and stuff, if ya know what i mean?
Hey, I used 2 way radios on my last cruise(Grand Princess March 2000). I was just straight out and asked if there were any people in board my age, I met alot of people this way. You can get some pretty funny responces from people. My next cruise is on the Radience of the Seas in march of 02 if anyones goin please email me.
it was really funny, coz that happened to me once, kinda, on my first cruise from March 11, 2001 on Voyager (I LOVE YOU GUYS ~ I'm gonna hafta drop-kick your boobs). I was hanging out with my friend (Newfie!!) on the photo gallery, and all of a sudden I remembered I had to call my parents on the walkie talkies or else they'd be pissed at me. So I called and since my battery was almost out and the reception was horrible down there, I said, "Hey I can't talk for long but I'm on Deck 3 with Sheldon and I'll be back in the cabin soon." Then Newfie (Sheldon, Newfie, same thing :-D) showed me how his walkie talkie could surf through channels and find which ones are on. So he surfed until he got to 14 16, the one I was on, and through both of our walkie talkies we got this strange message from someone who had listened on my call saying "I know where you are..." then giggling in the background. I was freaked but later on it was really funny.
