Girl's formal wear
Hey! This is my first cruise and I was wondering what do the gurls usually wear on formal night. I don't want to be over or under dressed for it. Thanks!

Re: Girl's formal wear
Usually its past homecoming dresses, or prom dresses. If neither apply to have an excuse to buy a new evening gown! :)

Re: Girl's formal wear
I'm going on the Voyageur the 12th of March and I don't really lke dressing up and I don't want to buy a evening dress or anything, could I just wear a nice skirt and top?? Would I still fit in? I'm 15 so I don't know if I should be really dressing up or not. Advice anyone??

Re: Girl's formal wear
something this chicks wearing is what i'd call formal, even tho its technically semi-formal:
really, u dont have a lot of room to pack like 3 big poofy prom dresses without like wrinkling the hell out of them

i have seen girls wear like full-out prom dresses like this

for the less formal nites, i usually wear like a nice skirt and top, and then for the casual, i wear nice capris or less fancy skirts

Re: Girl's formal wear
I usually wear a skirt or dress pants with a nice top or a sun dress to supper. For formal nights I have a few semi formal dresses. You can easily get away with not wearing a prom dress, I do all the time and I don't feel underdressed. I'd never have room to pack a prom dress anyway!

Re: Girl's formal wear
i bought my senior prom dress really early so i could wear it twice! its really formal princess dress and i love it to death! i dont care if im over dressed its not like ill be in it long cuz not matter what dress you wear you usually change into something comfortable soon after dinner!

Re: Girl's formal wear
Hey this is my first cruise too and my mom and Dad have gone 4 times so i think I can help you well im going in April on the Valor and I have a couple things picked out for formal nite like dresses and Skirts because i only usually wear the usual American Eagle Shirt and Jeans so my mom said she needed to get me some dresses so its all good the best places to look for dresses here in Illinois are JcPennys Goodys or maybe Famous Barr but I geuss it depends on where you live.

Re: Re: Girl's formal wear
I have been on 7 cruises. I am going on Adventure of the Sea on March 27th! For formal night you should wear a dress...if u dont than u would be under dressed. You don't need a prom dress it isnt quite that fancy. A sparkly dress is good or just black dress or something like that. It doesnt have to be big a poofy. For casual night just a skirt and a nice shirt is fine...kate

Re: Girl's formal wear
Usually different families do different things. U HAVE to dress up for for Captains dinner. Maybe a cute lil prom dress. Dont spend a lot of money it is only dinner!

Re: Girl's formal wear
our family is all matching, both me and my mom have red dresses (i bought my prom dress early so i could wear it twice so it might be too fancy but i dont care - i got two birds with one stone!) and my dad and bro have tuxes with red bow ties. we usually do family photos every year! but yes the captain dinner is really fancy but like cruisedoll i usually change rather quickly!
