Help! Girls! clothes on Alaska cruise?!

Help! I am a FEMALE and Pink*peanut helped me figure out what to wear on land in Alaska (I leave in 2 weeks, Carnival Spirit) but what do you wear on the ship? Is it pretty much t-shirts and hoodies or sweaters and jeans and shorts? And how about formal night--won't I freeze if I go out on deck--what am I supposed to wear over my dress at night, like a snow jacket?

I am SO used to going on tropical cruises, where you wear a halter top or a cami and shorts or a shortskirt and flip flops, and the clothes are so colorful, but all I can see (from the pictures my mom has shown me in the Alaska cruise brochures) is old people dressed up in BORING clothes like navy blue sweatshirts and jeans. Everything looks so eeeww.

Can anyone who has cruised Alaska help me with this? [I live in Florida so I don't have many winter or fall type clothes]. THANKS SO MUCH!

Now... this is just a guess...
i would wear hoodies and jeans.

(also... we've been having rain up here lately and it was cool today.)

Okay I went on an laskan cruise last June and it was the best!
It can get cold so pack 5-6 pairs of Jeans.
2-3 hoodies
2 swimsuits (it is warm enough to go swimming, we did all the time)
it wasn't that bad out when it was formal night. Just pack a light sweater and you will be fine.
Bring the short skirts! It is warm on the ship! I wore mine all the time!
Bring suncreen! The day we were sailing by hubbard glacier I got burnt and alot of people were out taning because it was so warm.

I went on an Alaska cruise last year in June, and it was my first alaskan cruise. *Definately still be colourful, just because you dress a little warmer doesnt mean you cant have cute colors!
*Like cruiseprincess0162 said, bring the shortskirts because on the ship it is warm! *But Id also bring pants and capris in case its a little bit cold.
*t-shirts and hoodies work great!
*When we were in ketchikan everyone was swimming, it was totally warm!

hey i am a guy, but i went on an alaska cruise last year and im going again in a few weeks...and u definately need to bring sweatshirts...not so much jackets cuz it never rains heavily...but its just windy and chilly....so lotsa sweatshirts and jeans hah...byeaa have fun
