formal night you'll see anything from cocktail dresses & blouses with dress pants to the other extreme of a prom dress. if you just had your prom and you have your dress, why not get one more use out of it and wear it for formal night if you like to get dressed up? but i certainly wouldn't go out and buy a 300 dollar prom dress for one formal night on a cruise. a knee length cocktail dress will do just fine.
i have always found knee length dresses to be the most convienent, and i have found that there are more people dressed like that opposed to prom style dresses
when i went i saw a lot of girls wearing their prom dresses, but they may have just been trying to get more use out of them. I bought a knee-length dress for like 15 dollars and it works fine, i also saw some people in just dress pants & a nice shirt...so pretty much anything but jeans goes...i don't think they'd deny you admission
i'm going on a cruise in july and wanted to bring my prom dress for the formal nights just to get one more use out of it. but i don't know how to pack it. has anyone brought their prom dress? if you did how did you pack it?
it doesn't matter, you should use you own judgement, if you like a dress thats knee length and looks nice wear it! (or vice versa). The last cruise i went on I wore my dress from my formal at school and its floor length, but this year I found a dress thats knee length that I'm gonna wear. Personally, I would get a knee length dress because I think I'm more comfortable in them and you probably wont be as hot on the ship because you wouldn't be wearing a heavy prom dress.
