what kind of excursions have you guys went on at the ports and how did you like them? what are the best ones? we are trying to plan what we are going to do on our cruise, but everyone wants totally different things!!
swim (not encounter... its the cheaper one, but you dont actually get to swim with the dolphins) with the dolphins in cozumel (i have been there twice).. that was so awesome, probably my favorite excursion! also there is a really cool shopping area right by the port area...
swim with the stingrays in grand cayman(i have been here twice too)... this was really cool too. it was a snorkel trip and then they took to the sand bar where you are in the middle of the ocean, but its like 4 feet deep and the water is SO clear that you can see the white sand and its where all the stingrays are.. you get to swim with me and even kiss them if you want! my first time going here i just took a tour of the island and got to go to various places like seven mile beach and the turtle farm.. also there is a lot shopping here to do..
in jamaica i went to a resort and hung out there all day it was called sunset beach. the food was unlimited and you can use the pools/private beach and anything on the resort for the whole day. the bar is also unlimited. their drinking age is 18, but they DO NOT inforce it at all. my sister who was 16 was able to get all the drinks she wanted!
i went to bahamas and went to paradise island (which has the atlantis resort on it) but you cant use the pool (they have a really awesome pool) or any of the resort facilities you can only use the casino or the aquarium.. that kinda sucked but it was still really pretty.
i went to port canaveral and went to coco beach for the day and surfed. that was awesome it was my first time surfing on the east coast. the waves werent that big but the beach is really nice and there is also a ron jons surf shop there.
We ususally stay away from beaches, I live 2min from the beach, in fact I could go this afternoon if I wanted- so its nothing to big for us!
I have done:
Americas Cup Regatta in St Maarten, that was cool. Its a longer excursion but you get on a sailing yacht with a bunch of other people and they teach you how to sail it. After some instruction you race people on a different sailing yacht like in the America's Cup. Kind of cool.
Ocho Rios: Dunns River Falls- was the best. Its cool to literally climb up a waterfall in a forest. Not much else can explain this, you just have to be there to see it.
St Thomas we did an island tour that was okay, we just wanted to rent jet skis but couldent find anything else so we took the tour. Nothing "thrilling" but we went to some beach resort and drove through the back country.
